Our Kitchen & Bathroom Renovation Process
STEP 1: PLANNING & OUTLINING
The first step in our process involves a thorough inspection of your kitchen space and ironing out our main goal. A detailed discussion will tell us about your wants and needs, and the kind of aesthetic you’re going for. The goal can be repainting the cabinets or modifying the hardware with knobs and handles, repairing any damaged surfaces or renovating the entire kitchen with custom modifications.
STEP 2: PREPPING THE WORK AREA
The second step involves prepping the work area for sanding & painting. We lay down drop cloths or paperon the floor, countertops and other areas to avoid any kind of paint damage. Then we detach all the doors from their frames to sand and paint.
STEP 3: CLEANING & SANDING
This step involves scrubbing and cleaning the kitchen cabinets thoroughly to wipe out any dust, grease, or any other contaminants. Once we’re done we begin sanding. Our sanding equipment is designed to absorb dust particles. Wood filler may be used to fill the cracks and gaps within the cabinetry frames as well as repair any imperfections or damage from normal wear and tear.
STEP 4: PRIMING
This step is crucial especially if we’re painting over natural wood cabinets and want a polished base to help us get better adhesion and richer color from the paint. Primer also protects the wood from damage and ensures its longevity.We use alcohol based primer which it’s the best of its kind.
STEP 5: PAINTING
One of the most important steps in the kitchen cabinet refinishing process is painting. Once we’re done with the primer, we wait until it fully dries. Then we apply the paint in the same direction as the wood grain for best results.We allow time for the paint to dry and then we apply a second coat, moving in the same smooth strokes. In needed, we even apply a third coat (most companies only apply one coat). Once finished, we reattach the doors to the kitchen cabinets.
FINAL STEP 6: CLEANING
